About Kalpitiya

Kalpitiya was previously known as a ‘fishing village’ as it was mostly inhabited by fishermen in Sri Lanka. On the river safari, your boat will glide through the wilderness where you will spot many wildlife, including different species of birds, amphibians, and other marine lifeforms. 14 islands dot the lagoon and you will most likely be passing them as well.
