Historical value

During the course of the battle involving King Ravana and Lord Rama over the custody of Sita, the monkey-god Hanuman was tasked with having to carry the holy Sanjeevi Mountain which contained a large number of herbs. On his way back, it is believed that fragments of the mountain had dropped, one of which is considered to be the present site of Rumassala Hill.

Scientific evidence

According to renowned science visionary, Sir Arthur C. Clarke, it was revealed that the area in question contained a magnetic anomaly; a condition occasioned by a meteorite that had fallen from the sky. Additionally and interestingly, Clarke took up the position that Rumassala featured one of the lowest gravitational fields on earth.
